This problem is faced by almost every internet users, that sometime we close Internet Explorer tab by accident and then really get puzzled how to bring that link back or restore that. In general we browse through the whole history to find that out. It’s a very common and quite annoying problem.

Thanks to Microsoft, to take care about this very common problem. On IE7 we can easily restore the accidentally close tab with a single click. There are two shortcuts keys and using that we can restore the closed tab.

[1] By pressing Alt+X we can restore the last close tab.
[2] And another shortcut, Alt+Q brings a screen that lets us to choose the most recent closed tab visually.

To get this feature you need to install an addon for Internet Explorer7 called “IE7 Open Last Closed Tab”. You can avail this addon simply google it or browsing Microsoft website.

On the other hand, Internet Explorer 8 comes with much advance feature to restore last closed tab. On IE8 simply if you close tabs accidentally, just open a new blank tab and you can a list of last 10 close tabs and by clicking that you can restore it. Also, it has option to open all listed tabs at once. So, if you’re using Internet Explorer 7 then I’ll suggest you not to install that plugin, just install Internet Explorer 8 and get relaxed from this common problem.

For firefox, always uses the option - Show my windows and tabs from last time in Tools-> Options-> Main
