Good Points:
The Insignia NS-PDP42 is an affordable 42 inch Plasma TV. It has both the mounting options for wall and swivel stand as well. It has a well designed remote control, which is functionally very good and convenient. It offers a lot of options for the user viewing setting. To also offers a power saving mode which helps in conserving electricity bills. The Insignia NS-PDP42 is sufficiently packed with connectivity options to serve any kind of user adequately. Its major strength is its temperature control which performs perfectly. The Insignia NS-PDP42 proved to give good results when reviewed connected to a PC.

Weaknesses:
The Insignia NS-PDP42 looses total picture quality in power saver mode. It has a serious issue with burn-in effect, as the previous scene lingers on for a considerable time. it considerably lacks in quality picture sharpness. It has poor noise reduction ability.

My Opinion:
The Insignia NS-PDP42 could have been a good, inexpensive Plasma TV set, but only if it did not have the burn-in effect issue. Otherwise the set has great options and performs well in other aspects. But the issue with the burn-in is so serious that it over rules all other capabilities, bringing it to the tail end of the complete range.
