Strengths of Westinghouse W4207

Westinghouse W4207 is a 42 inch LCD display, which is designed basically to function as a huge computer monitor. It offers picture in picture option for more than two input sources simultaneously and is equipped with back light controls. It offers sufficient connectivity options on the rear panel. The Westinghouse W4207 has an auto-detection feature which detects every new source connected immediately and switches it on. It has good color accuracy.

Weaknesses of Westinghouse W4207

Westinghouse W4207 lacks an ATSC Tuner, therefore a cable connection or a satellite receiver is a must to watch TV. The remote control is a non universal type with very basic function. The numeric keys are actually useless as there are no channels to change and no other gadget to operate. It scales down all input signals to fit its native pixels. The aspect ratio is limited to only two modes only. It has poor screen uniformity. As a display monitor its biggest weakness is its off angle viewing which is a big short fall. The black levels are just average, leaving much more to be desired. Its high definition resolution is also below average. The noise reduction just doesn’t work at all.

My Opinion about Westinghouse W4207

The Westinghouse W4207 is a bargain for those who are likely to hook it up with a cable for TV viewing. It actually does not compete with any of the high definition TVs available in the market. But a great option for a giant sized monitor to play on your PC.
