Scalp acne is more often considered as a very serious and distressing skin disease which develops itchy pustules on the scalp or on the upper forehead. Scalp acne frequently triggers because of various factors which include very oily scalp, stress problem, chicken pox, dirty scalp which comprises bacteria and yeasts etc. this skin disease can be very irritating and painful and it is called as the mildest form of Folliculitis which is a follicle hair disorder resulting in itchy and aching pustules breakouts along with a hairline.
Sometimes Scalp acnes results in disease called Necrotica Miliaris which give birth to large papules with black colored crusts causing severe pain and irritation. Mostly people do not pay much attention on these scars and contact pharmacists for temporary treatments. It is recommended that you should consult a physician for proper treatment and cure.
What to avoid?
It is suggested that one should avoid consuming much oily food as it usually aggravate acnes on the scalp. A person should wash his/her hair with mild shampoos at least twice a weak in order to avoid dirty scalp. An individual should not use hair conditioners more frequently because conditioners contain humectants which can originate acnes on the scalp. Avoid sharing towels and combs with a person who is suffering from this skin disease as it is contagious and can affect other person also. Do not wash your hair with extremely hot water as it is harmful for the scalp.
Treatment and Cure
• A person, who is a victim of scalp acnes, should always wash his or her hairs with shampoos which contain ingredient called salicylic acid. One should apply the shampoo using cotton balls on the acnes and over all on the scalp.
• It is mandatory for an individual who is suffering from this disease should always use mild shampoos in order to cure scalp acne.
• If an individual is having mild pustules or acnes on the scalp, he/ she are required to use shampoos specially manufactured for oily and sensitive scalps.
• One can use anti-dandruff shampoos like ciclopirox, ketoconazole etc along with conditioners as they helps in curing scalp acnes.
• Sometimes medicines like oral topical steroids, topical antibiotics, and oral antibiotics also help in treating scalp acnes.
It is mandatory to consult a doctor or dermatologist in order to get rid of painful scalp acnes permanently.
