Show Thumbnail Images in Teasers of Blogs
To continue with my reviews of various wordpress plugins, today’s Plugin is Thumbnail For Excerpts. Now we all have seen websites which shows 2 paragraphs each on front page for every post and shows a image thumbnail on the left hand side of the post. Now not only this looks very nice to eyes (image + text) but it also gives more information about the post and this kind of a mechanism of Image and Post in excerpts is a must if you have a review website.
Thumbnail for Excerpts as the name implies,is a WordPress plugin that helps you to show thumbnails near excerpts of your posts. But the main feature of this plugin is, you don’t have to upload images if your post already has some images on it. It simply find the post for images and if found any image then it looks for thumbnails for that image (which is by default by WordPress). If any thumbnail found, then this plugin displays that otherwise it resize first image and use that.
Thumbnail for Excerpts has some customization options and by editing values in the plugin file you can easily place and manage the image like you want. Tags of this plugin starts with “TFE_” following the action. For example, “TFE_ALIGN”,”left|right” : Image alignment.
But sometimes “Thumbnail for Excerpts” creates some horrible thumbnails incase images are smaller than the fixed thumbnail size; because naturally it gets stretched because. It depends a lot on the theme you choose.

Abhimanyu, create a separate category for wordpresss plugin reviews, as far this plugin is concerned, indeed its very good and perfect for blog reviews

I am already using seperate wordpress category. I have around 40-50 wordpress articles which I had written in February and I want to put them here, so expect lot of wordpress content in coming weeks
