Sites not opening in Airtel
This seems to be a very old problem, not only with Airtel broadband but with BSNL too that many sites sometimes just don’t open. After typing the url in address bar, you either get Connection time Out or Page Load error.
This happens because Airtel DNS fails to resolve the domain name to its IP.
If you are not able to open some websites in airtel, you may like to do following things -
1. Reboot the router - Many times sites which are not loading starts loading once you reboot the router as the IP gets changed.
2. Try to flush the DNS cache - Open the command prompt in windows XP/Vista and type
ipconfig /flushdnsthis will clear the cached dns settings.
3. use OpenDNS - Instead of using Airtel DNS settings, you can use opendns settings. You can use these 2 DNS ip (under manual DNS settings)
208. 67.222.222
208. 67.220.220
If you don’t know how to change manual dns settings, please look at here (and select your operating system). You may also need to require to flush DNS once more time for the settings to take place.
This should make the websites open in Airtel. If they are still not opening, use proxies ![]()
