Few posts back, I had talked about Simple Captcha and how you can use it show captcha image verification code to avoid spammers and bots. Now Simple Captcha is not the only plugin which you can use on your wordpress blog to stop bad bots and spammers.

is_human() plugin for wordpress is one of the most customizable and extensive spam protection plugin available now a days. This plugin has three validation methods to identify users are a human being or a spam bot. You can choose from these verification methods, (1) Standard Captcha Image, (2) Simple Math Equation and (3) Simple Custom Questions. About the 3rd method, you can also create your own questions/ans and advanced users can hard-code them as per need. Also, if you like you can choose all three above mentioned methods to be displayed randomly on each page load.

Currently, is_human() verifies comments/posts and new user registrations. is_human() comes with few great features, like you can hide is_human() for already registered members and admins, you can create a blacklist for spammers by blocking IP addresses. Also, if you like you can display statistics of is_human() to public via widget.

It’s a very easy to use plugin and you can change setting and verification methods on the sheet tab Setting on is_human(). This plugin adds an extra page to the your WordPress blog’s Dashboard which makes easier to maintain this plugin. Almost all feature of is_human() are customizable from the admin panel, from captcha colors to font sizes to input fields and many other points.
