I am 5 days late in putting down this news which is anyway all over the web but what the heck, twitter is closing its Auto Follow service. It was anyway not publicly available and the users had to mail to twitter staff to enable it. Overall a very good move from twitter.

Twitter was getting filled with power users and marketers who were having thousands of followers and they were using auto follow features (mostly as a mark of thank you gesture to followers) and were following their followers but its not possible for someone to follow thousands of people which are added into his account automatically and really this feature was pretty useless, so its good that twitter decided to discontinue auto follow feature. It will be interesting to see what will happen to the people who were added as autofollow in twitter account.
