The Silverlight technology by Microsoft’s has many plus factors. It allows you to merge media files with web elements to deliver stunning visuals. When installed it automatically updates itself on regular intervals. These regular updates hold large space on your hard disk which may cause some programs to crash. There may be times when you would like to get rid of the updates and free up some space. You can remove Silverlight application updates through the control Panel. The process is quite similar for both windows XP and Vista.

Instructions to Uninstall Silverlight

Step 1: Click on the “Start” button and scroll down to “Control Panel” from the Start Menu tab.

Step 2: Now Find “Add and Remove Programs” icon in the XP Control Panel and in Vista find “Programs and Features.” Icon.

Step 3: Click Open the menu icon. In Windows XP select the “Show Updates” check box at the top of the screen to view windows updates. Now Select “View Installed Updates” on the task pane in the left side of window.

Step 4: Now Scroll through the list index of the installed updates to find Silverlight updates.

Step 5: Now select the Silverlight updates one by one starting from the oldest first.

Step 6: To remove it Click on the “Uninstall” button and press “OK.” To confirm.

Step 7: Wait few seconds for the Windows uninstaller to completely remove the installed updates. You may select additional updates & click “Uninstall” again, if required.
