Use Digg as URL Shortening Service
Last week I had reported about Diggbar and how this will make users not leave digg and how it can increase overall page views count on digg many folds.
Now as a digg user, you can get another feature (not intended though) with diggbar and that is to use it as url shortening service. It may sound funny but with urls like these http://digg.com/d1o6PE, I think it will certainly appeal to many, specially when many popular url shortening services are banned in forums due to spammer using them for spamming by using redirection once their urls get banned in those forums.
Now digg has a good mechanism to detect spam and its not possible to submit same page to get different digg submissions so spammers can certainly not get more then 1 digg shortened url for each of their url (if somehow they clear the spam detection) mechanism. Does this means that people will stop using tinyurl and other url shortening service ? most likely not since the process of url creation in digg is way too lengthy but still, its always nice to have another option under your disposal.

We recently launched a new website that provides a URL shortening service for “multiple” websites:
http://www.viewista.com
Viewista creates a short URL for “multiple” websites. Plus, you can view the multiple sites all at once. We think it can be a real time-saver. You can also post comments on the sites and share with your friends, making it a social URL sharing service. Viewista can be particularly useful on Twitter because a user can create a short URL for multiple sites on a topic without having to use multiple tweets.
