If you are looking to buy a camera, you will often come across this term, Prosumer Camera but you might be wondering what they are ?

Well the simple answer is - they are nothing but camera which are targeted for common people but are loaded with tons of features and can be used by professionals too. Prosumer is nothing but Professional + Consumer joined together.

A good example of such cameras can be Nikon S550 which are called prosumer camera because of high end features it has but still it can be used easily by any person with very little knowledge of photography. Such camera can easily be used for instant photo shooting or for birthdays too!

Compared to them, compact cameras are less featured though the difference is very subjective.
