If you have a windows vista then the chances are, your windows explorer will keep on getting crash whenever you try to downlload .FLV (flash) files through Firefox. It is a well known bug about which nothing much has been done as the problem probably causes by lack of plugin for .flv in firefox which causes problem.

Anyway here are the two solutions to stop windows explorer getting crashed while downloading .flv files

1. Use download manager like Internet Download Manager (IDM) and under Downloads -> Options -> File Type put FLV, now whenever you click on downloadable .flv link, firefox download manager will not be used as IDM will take over.

2. If you don’t want to have any download manager (I think you should), you can use other browser like IE or Google Chrome or Opera as they can easily download .flv files without causing explorer crashing.

I have tried to install various .flv plugin packages including K-Lite but unfortunately it hasn’t solved the problem, if you know the solution then please post in comments.
