First thing first, I have written lot of articles on wordpress and I will be putting them on the blog regularly, ideally 2 per day. Its just that I need to finish it (this blog has currently 184 posts and over 200+ drafts, most of them are just titles though)

So if you have visited sites like thesuperficial which are celebrity blogs and covers lot of images, you must have noticed that each image opens in its own wordpress window i.e. when you click on image, it takes you to new page which has the image, not to the actual image. This is done by most of the big blogs as well as newspaper sites as they make money from CPM ads, so more the pages are viewed, the more money the site makes.

This is why such sites also blocks hotlinking, so people can not link to these images from their site and have to link to these pages which have images and ads on them.

Wordpress also has such nice plugin named Adsense Attachment Page using which you can show iimages in new pages which have adsense on them (or any other ads).

The plugin is shipped with couple of php files which you need to put in your theme directory other then enabling the plugin and that’s it. Set the settings and enter your adsense codes. The plugin automatically resizes big images to thumbnails and when you click on them, it takes you to new pages with full images and adsense code on it.
