Yahoo Messenger Voice Problem
If you are having Yahoo Messsenger voice problem and not able to using voice in chat or not able to talk on yahoo voice and getting the error that “no microphone input is detected”
This is a very common problem with yahoo messenger when it says that microphone is not connected even though it is connected. The problem with yahoo is, the error don’t help much in troubleshooting and most of the time, the problem is not with your microphone, its just that yahoo messenger fails to recognize it. Fixing this is not a big thing, just go to Messenger -> Preferences -> Calling & Devices and see what it shows. Normally it will show something like this -
It may show multiple option for microphone if you have more then one port otherwise the list will be grey. Now click on “open the call setup assistant” and run the wizard. Try to do this for every option and this should make the voice work in yahoo messenger.

I came here while searching for yahoo messenger voice problem. Thanks alot for helping as it solved my problem in yahoo chat rooms. I think this is a problem with laptops having multiple ports for voice

I have same Problem.. But i have Problem in Listening… I mean my MIC is working perfect.. but My Cousin (from Dubai) is not Listening my Voice. But there in Dubai… His Mic is Working perfect and but he is not listening my voice.. plz help

@Faheem - So your cousin is not able to listen to your voice. You tried to change the calling device ? also check your sound with accessories -> Sound recording to confirm tht you are able to record sound.

I have a problem in sound while chating in yahoo messenger. I have USB plug and i dont have microphone in my laptop, it was ok some days before , but now, its a problem of hearing the voice of mine to the others, but i can heard the other’s.
I have changed my settings like showing here, but still having problem.
do you have some suggestion ?

Is there a way to get Yahoo Messenger to use anything OTHER than a microphone setup? I’m trying to use a mixing board, driving my sound card on a “line in”, not a microphone input. All my other software is happy to use “mixer output” from the sound card as input…..

Yahoo messenger says that microphone is not connected even though it is connected. I’ve tried to set up the video and voice and still not working.

Hi,
For almost 6 months, i’ve been having problem with vid/voice call with YM, MSN, as well as Skype and now, MEEBO!
the sounds breaks up that it’s hard for me to listen to the other end and vice versa. the notice that appeared was, either the connection was bad or i needed to update the driver. I rang my ISP, and asked me to check the connection using the speedometer they had online, and the connection seemed to be very fast so they said all of the above IMs were infected by viruses that i should reinstall them. i did and everything is still the same… funny thing is, none of this happened 6 months before they start giving me troubles!
plz help!!!!!!
