HDFC Worst Bank of India
This is my personal Rant about HDFC bank which I think is the worst Bank of India. I am sorry but this is the truth. And I hope HDFC management realizes this that hiring some good looking employees who can speak fluent english and in there early twenties is not going to change much if the overall attitude is still the same.
HDFC took 40 days to close my account and I can still see it has not been closed. And this after writing various applications and dropping them in all the boxes spread all over my city. I have called the Phone Banking people multiple times, have talked to HDFC people of 3 branches and they are just bailing out by saying, that please drop a application and it will be done in 12 days!
Really, 12 Days for closing an account ? how come ICICI is able to do this in less then 30 minutes ? hell even SBI probably won't be taking this long and those guys, the last time I had checked were still using registers rather then computers!!!
The problem with HDFC is attitude and the old age problem of indian goverment babus, of putting the onus on someone else. Why should I do it, this is not my job, others should do it etc and until such things don't chagne, HDFC will pretty much remain same.
My HDFC savings bank account is still not closed yet and till the, I will stick to my stance on HDFC being the worst Bank of India.

HDFC bank is OK for small time accounts. It is definitely not a business bank. Their staff is highly under qualified and is not prepared or trained to handle banking transactions beyond cash/cheque deposits and withdrawls.
The staff's prime interst is in selling Insurance, Car Finance, Mutual Funds, etc. from which they earn commissions.
If you are looking for a serious bank, look elsewhere. If you have simple banking needs that don't go beyond deposits and withdrawls, HDFC may work.
