From whatever I have come to know, the paper was way tougher then previous years AIEEE papers and Maths was specially harder. These are ofc ourse predicted cutoff ranks but they should give you good insight into what the actual ranks are going to be.

@sarayu - you can get into IIIT if you get 2000 rank, best of luck for it, if you miss it, you should be able to make it into warangal easily with good branch

@Nischal - As per predictins, you will be getting rank of around 4500 to 5000, you can get both surathkal and trichy (less changes and probably not a great branch), keep your fingers crossed

@deepak - with 120, very little chance of getting good college, try for private or also look for non engineering streams

@delta - with 15k+ rank, its unlikely to get a good NIT and good branch, I will advice you to look for other options too. getting PEC is difficult too

@kritika - you can get into private colleges though I will advice you to reconsider your engineering decision, no point in paying 8 or 10 lakh just for a engineering degree

@ anurag - which IIIT you are talking about ? you wont’ get into any (also no change of DCE) with 160 but you can get into NIT kurukshetra with not so good branch. What is your preferred choice, branch or college ?

@vedant - what are you looking for ? you can get any branch in decent college

@pragya - it depends on what you are choices are. You won’t get any NIT for sure but there are tons of other colleges too

@Swikriti - the chances are very less, I will advice you to look for some other options too as you don’t want to take a real waste branch in some NIT

@sweety - you will get admission letter from AICTE in which you will get all the info of what you have to do. Talk to cousins/friends and brothers of friends to know what college is good and which branch, Get as much info as possible as it is question of your life.

@arpita - with 20k rank, you may not get MANIT even if you are from bhopal and has 50% quota but there are other good colleges too in MP otherwise look for south,

@vivek - with 95 very less chance of getting direct admissoin, please look for management/NRI quota or better, look for non engineering streams too

@deepak - welll India has hundreds of private engineering colleges, I was looking to make a list of it, I will put the list on blog in coming days. But you can talk to your elders/brothers/cousins. See, be honest to yourself and see what you can do well. May be getting into armed forces or merchant navy or healthcare can be a better option for you. I don’t have much knowledge about deendayal petroleum Univerysity, but if it is good, go for it.

@jay - you will be getting around 2500 to 3000 rank, pretty good. with this rank you can get almost any college/any stream expect IIIT or few branches of trichy/warangal etc

@sunil - the chances are really slim, I will advice you to look for better branch and private college rather then just chosing any branch in any NIT.

@Himanshu - very little chances for thapar. There are plenty of private colleges in south, please look at AIEEE booklet and consult seniors and elder brothers.

@harshal - you can get it depending on your state rank

@ajmal - no chance, look for non engineering options too.

@dipankar - I am not aware of expected cutoff in NIT surat but you can get it if you are local.

@joseph - not much chance to be honest with state quota too. Look for other NITs and other colleges with good branch

@kritika - nothing wrong in taking a one year drop if you think you can do it better next time, Go for it and best of luck

@jay - yes you can get into trichy and warangal. Not sure about CSE but look for electronics. NIT Sooratkal is also good

@Tanay - getting trichy/warangal is difficult with that score, I am also not sure about mechanical in other TOP nit’s unless you have state quota. Look for other better colleges and branches.

@shubham - CSE is difficult, keep your fingers crossed, but you can get other branches in NIT hamirpur.

@charan - they are NITs and though that in league with trichy/warangal/calicut are certainly good. If you are getting CSE in them then I will say go for it.

@puja - yes you can get into CSE of good NIT. You can get BIT mesra with some non cse/ec branch

@Sunil - Its hard for me to give all details right now, I may make a separate post about this later but NITs in South are obviously better then North Indians. Trichy, caliicut, warangal fills very fast.

@kartik - Not sure about warangal or IIIT A but you can get MANIT for sure. Infact you can also get IIIT A

@jatin - you can get mech in NIT, not sure about kurukshetra, do you have state quota ?

@sukumar - no chance in PEC/Thapar but you can try with other good NIT and government colleges. Unfortunately I am not aware about haryana/delhi quota, please ask elder brothers who have given AIEEE exam in the past.

@karitk - your state rank will help you in getting admission to your state’s NIT, so even with lower rank you can get your state NIT seats.

@ lagao - I honesly can’t recommend any college for electronics for that rank, you need to go though AIEEE brocheure and wait for final rank. I will advice you to consult your elder brothers/friends to decide which college you can get. Thinkk from placements/jobs point of view too.

@ramit - well punjab often has lot of high ranks in AIEEE, but still you can get NIT jalandhar if got really lucky though look for other options

@anurag - NIT Kuru is pretty good. give preference to CSE first, IIIT H is better then NIT’s. I don’t have rankings of NIT’s unfortunately but NITs in south are better then the north once

@lagao - Yes, the ST should help you in getting good college

@deepak - you can get something through state quota, look for private collegess too

@anurag - being a software engineer myself and after seeing how things work in India, I will highly advice you to stick with computers and electronics only.Civil and Mechanical jobs don’t pay much unless you are doing it from IITs or other top 10 engineering colleges.

@piyush - yes you can get them, do you have Maharashtra state quota ?

@akash - yes under 200 state rank you should be able to get it

@Dhairya - at 120, you can only get private colleges in bangalore. Look for non engg streams too as an option

@Bhavin - with 145, its very less to get into state NIT of gujarat. Look for other collegess too

@vimal - very little chanecs to get into best NIT, look at the list here

@chinki - 125 is very less for getting into TOP NIts even with ST quota though you can get into state NIT with lower branch

@piyush - always chose CSE then ECE and then others.

@Dev - dev I had only mentioned about B.tech but you are right there is also dual degree in IIIT H. I see what your point is but I don’t think IIITH is going to cross 2500 anyway, the number of seats are very less there and its almost first choice of everyone. NSIT and IIIT both are really good, I will prefer IIIT over NSIT though due to its industry interface and reputation which will only be going up.

@arnavium- yes you can, look for private colleges

@nischal - Suathkal is really good, I am a software enginner so i will say go for CS in RV/BMS or PESIT but both options are fine, Those who says that after taking CSE you won’t have option are talking rubbish, computers are everywhere and you can go to any industry.

@aditya - even if you get 6000, you can get trichy/warangal/surathkal are possible, I will advice you to go for CSE in top NITs over taking mech in IT BHU.

@ chink - its very hard for me to predict rank on 125, since there is going to be lot of clustering with thousands having same marks. I will advice you to look for CSE in karnataka colleges since its easy to get job in TCS/Infosys there

@brijesh - you can get IIIT hyderabad for sure

@ramesh - top colleges like DAiiCT/Nirma don’t have bacck door entry. From what I knows, karnaaka and tamilnadu colleges have management quota, they may ask for 10 to 15 lakh. To be honest, I will advice you to look for non engineering field instead of burning so much money on a degree which probably won’t even get you a job.

What is the purpose of State Rank?

I got 35k in All india General and 594 in chandigarh State. PEC has posted the cut-offs from last year on their website, but it seems those are the All india Ranks even under Chandigarh quota.

Guys, sorry for not replying, I was busy with work. It is also not possible for me to reply to all of you, but let me give it a try (I am going bottom to top)

jalaj - yes u can get into NIT kuru, no problem.

vishal - with such low rank, its very hard to suggest any college. If possible, look for karnataka colleges or any south collegess, they are better then north

sahil - PEC, thapar and NIT kuru are almost impossible to get. Look for other colleges in other states. may be even in south

nischal - both category rank and overrank applies as per your options. If you are looking to apply in your state, state rank will apply otherwise overall rank or category rank depending on college.

Adi - please consult your elders, I am not able to remember many colleges in the range of 35k

@pallavi - 15k in AIEEE is pretty decent, look for some NIT good branch

@anant - its very low rank, you probably get management seat. I will advice you to look for non enginneering streams too, why waste 10 lakh

@arnav - u can mech in almost any NIT other then best 5 I guess

@shekhar - if u can get B.Arch go for it,

@jay - yes, you can easily get eee in surathkal atleast. Can get calicut too and may be trichy/warangal too.

@sougata - getting into government colleges in west bengal won’t be easy, look for private colleges if possible, that too in south.

@shivam - no you can’t apply for uttrakhand seats

@vishu - always look for CSE branch in any collegee. I don’t have much knowledge about LNMit but Bit mesra, NIt nagpur, thapar, pec are all good and equal. Look for CSE in these colleges. You may get IIIT A/DCE/NSIT in third counseling but dont’ hold your breath for it

@meera - taking civil is total waste of time for a girl specially if you are looking to do mba. You can take a drop, nothing wrong in it.

@vishal - give preference to college if you are getting CSE/ECE, if you are getting any college, then give preference to branch.

@neepa - its fine if you don’t want take a drop. Chemical engineering is perfectly fine if you are getting it otherwise non enggineering fields are also fine, you can do later MBA, health care + MBA is pretty HOT nowdays

@ayush - yes you can

@jay - tough choice I will probably go with calicut, it is well reputed though I have limited knowledge of DA IICT and you being from gujarat, it may be good if you go with daiict with ece. Keep me updated on what you got finally ..best of luck to all who replied, including those who are abusing me

@kartik - getting CSE will be difficult in the NIT though I am not sure, if you get lucky you can get it as its pretty decent rank. You can easily get EEE in any of them but I willadvice you to look for cse

@ prapti - ya you can surely get CSE through state quota in the college, go with CSE NIT allahabad first. I am not much sure about quota for HP in PEC/Thapar unfortunately.

@Ankita - yess, you will get conselling call obviously , not many colleges offer B.Arch btw what is your barch rank ?

@harvinder - check the list of best NIT in India here http://mwolk.com/india/top-nit-of-india/, you can certainly get better then NIT Srinagar, Look for CSE too along with good college since category state rank 4 is pretty good.

@jay - unfortunately I am not much aware of current form filling but if you get one college, upcourse you have chances of getting better college in next counseling as per your fillings. Please try to change it and see if it allows you to do it.

@harvinder - finding government colleges won’t be easy but you do have lot of quotas, I honestly don’t kow the finer details of quotas in collges so you need to look yoursekf while filling the form, I feels you can get a decent governemnt college though.

@saahil - VIT nagpur or VIT vellore ? nagpur is good, vellore is not. Please search in http://ekikrat.in to find the rankings of colleges in various states,

hello sir……this is to just ask tht the cut off tht u have put this time for thapar….is nt exactly the same because a person with 32k rank is getting in thapar with a gud branch and tht too outside punjab……….and also this yr getting into nit was nt tough even a person with 32k rank is getting nit rourkela chemical branch…………also i would like to know vacant seats condition in uptu i f u know…..
