Registering tickets with Indian Railway
I am not a avid traveler and what ever traveling I do, I do by air
as I feels indian trains are way too time consuming, I mean a 1000 KM journey can take 16 hours by superfast trains + few hours spent on coming/going to railway station and normally these trains journey are also very tiring.
My biggest problem with unconfirmed tickets is the inquiry office numbers which I always find it busy (not having PC or smartphone handy do have its consequences unfortunately) and with this online website and reservation system giving all kind of errors though I am not much more versed with it.

India need a Service like Paypal
A long time back during baazee days, India had a service called paisapay which was an alternative of paypal and since the acquisition of bazee by ebay and paisapay being reduced to ebay india only,I have always felt that India seriously needs a paypal like service where people can easily pay money to someone through an online account without the hassle of going through all these Bank NEFT process and filling 3 different passwords. etc.
One of the main reason why we need a service like paypal in India is because this will speedup the ecommerce industry in India which gets hurt seriously with heavy transaction fees of payment gateways. In ecommerce industry where the margins are wafer thin of 2 to 5%, and if you pay payment gateway fees of 3 to 5%, it leaves nothing to the ecommerce site.
Indian Female bloggers
I just thought to make a list of Indian female bloggers who are writing professionally on the web. Now I haven’t seen too many indian female bloggers honestly who are blogging professionally (probably a good thing as the last thing the web need is more bloggers with adsense all over the blog:) ) but here are few which I could find -
1.Kamla Bhat – Kamla bhat probably is one of the most known female indian blogger who write and produces podcasts and takes interviews of some big shots in It industry. She has worked in various IT companies in silicon valley for over 10 years.
A network of Indian News Websites
I had talked about this in the past that why indian news websites needs a revamp and change the way they present news. For example sify which is a premiere indian news website has no comment moderation whatsoever and the news items are filled with flame comments. The Hindu’s site looks to be very 1995ish with google ads everywhere.
Now in the competitive Indian news channel market, a new player Tadka nework has also joined in. As per the press release, they are launching 6 sites right now BollyTadka, Edutadka, MoneyTadka, SportsTadka and TVTadka (in press release I only saw 5, they may launch the rest in coming days) where they are looking to cover various verticals in Indian web space. Overall a pretty novel concept and something which has already been successfully done in USA.
Shaadi.com Review - Why Best Indian Matrimonial Website
Last year I was working on an Indian site which was in the competitive Indian matrimony market and hence I am probably in a better position to comment on Indian marriage sites then probably most of the others. Unfortunately the site didn’t got traction and though it is still working and accepting users I don’t think after one year they are even near to breaking even.
The biggest problem for them was that they were in the niche which has players like shaaadi.com which is almost 8 years old and probably has over million members. The law of the Internet says bigger will keep on getting bigger and its very difficult to compete against them if they also have some competitive advantage against you, which shaadi.com certainly has which is the ability to take micro payment by going to members home, something which is not possible for other sites (except bharatmatrimony)

Community for female Indian bloggers IndusLadies
In the last post I had covered IndiBlogger as how good place it is where all the bloggers can hang out, now the problem with blogging is that it is very biased towards males and is heavily male dominated.
In the whole blogosphere, I see only 4 or 5 professional full time blogger who can be called authority and the rest are part timers. In India, things are even worst and other then few handful I barely sees any female blogger blogging.

Humsurfer Spam, Most useless Indian Site on Internet
I am seeing Humsurfer for over 3 years now and it seems to be ranking for almost everything in search engine thanks to its age and google algorithm. Now the problem with humsurfer is, its juat a spam aggregator of news items, most of them not even related to india.
It has couple of million pages in Google and there is absolutely no useful information on the site, since it has no community whatsoever. People submit the pages to it which makes for probably 10% of its total pages, the rest are automated rss feeds pulling.
