OK so I have spent 45 minutes trying to make a post only to realize that nothing is fully working on sulekha, the form for ad posting doesn’t work in firefox and google chrome, part of the form is not even visible in firefox and you keeps on wondering where is the submit button ? the form only works in internet explorer (may be sulekha developers are still working on IE?)

I was rejected twice by payment gateway so eventually had to pay Rs 110 through my netbanking only to realize that the ad went in wrong city!

Few days back, I had made a post on Tatkal ticket booking and how it works, now here is another post on how inefficient the system is.

I am trying to reserve a Tatkal ticket for the last 4 days, each day I am trying to book the ticket through IRCTC website and the site doesn’t work from 8 am till 10 am. It is impossible to book a tatkal ticket as there are only 6 available per day for the train I am trying and it looks like they are getting taken in first 2 minutes itself.

NDTV.com, the online news site of ndtv network has failed again. A quick look on the pages shows “on your face” adsense ads to make 2-3 cents per clicks from the visitors. Someone should tell them that people browing news sites barely clicks on ads, and such ads are really turn off. NDTV is not renowned for really seeing the Indian web space on fire anyway, and with such actions, expect them to lose more traffic.

A poor guy like me who is running a blog to pay his bills is using adsense is understandable I guess but what’s the point of NDTV running such ads (these are even worst then hindus’ ads who by the way has upgraded their site)

India with its 8 Crore net users (5 crore regular) is becoming a hub of net fraud.specially in make money online business. One of the way people are doing this online fraud is offering money for reading SMS, and the trick is, you have to pay Rs 200 registration fees!

One of the example of such company is S M S rupees.com (remove the space in SMS as I can’t give them live link, the last time when I had done this, the website people abused me alot through comments and called me as a fraud for calling them fraud :D)

I was just searching for some free web hosting offered by Indian web hosts which are not renowned for great hosting offers as I wanted to make a post to list down all such hosts, unfortunately as expected I didn’t found any host which was offering free hosting. Now I know expecting free hosting in today’s world is crazy but many hosts do this and in return they show their ads.

Hosting is anyway dirt cheap with people offering like $10/year hosting offers so the logic behind free hosting is that why not just give it for free and let the person show host ads ? or you can run a web forum where you can ask the person to make say 50 posts a month and you can put ads on that forum which will be win-win situation for everyone.

I was looking for some Indian hosting service providers on Google and after spending 40+ minutes to find the right host (I didn’t found any in the end) I can safely say that Indian web hosts need to pick up the pace and come on the highway.

I checked most of the hosts on first 4 pages of Google and either most of them were not having any decent site or were offering nonsense packages like 5 MB hosting for 200 rupees per year. I didn’t saw any VPS hosting on Indian servers which I was looking for. Infect what I was was Indian hosts which are offering hosting in India, offering hosting in US datacanters (does this sentence made any sense?). Now the question is, what is the point of going for Indian hosting when the prices are high, services are bad and eventually you will be hosting in USA itself.

I barely gets any time to watch television as I spend my most of the time online and to be honest, I am not a great fan of what is being shown on Indian television either, but a so called news channel India TV is taking the concept of sensational journalism to totally new level.

India TV channel it seems only shows bogus news with absolutely no credentials and other channel like aaj tak, CNN IBN which are more into infotainment, India TV leaves them far behind with programs which are a joke with no base. They seems to cook up news stories too in news room instead of going out as probably making stories sitting in AC rooms is a better thing then to go out and take interview and to real journalism work like others used to do.

I was just looking to see which of .co.in or .in tld (top level domain) is more popular among Indian websites and it looks though earlier it was .co.in which was popular, now most of the indian sites perfer .IN as top level domain.

But this post is not about that, this post is about domainers registering allmost all good combinations of .IN domains which are strictly meant for Indians only. No matter what the domain you come up with, the chances are its already taken.
