Final year candidates who have appeared for their final examinations can also apply for admission to Cochin University programmes. All courses are approved by UGC and Distance Education Courses are approved by Distance Education Council, New Delhi.
Each year Common Admission Test or CAT organized All India Basis in different examination centres in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bangalore, Chennai, Hydrabad and other important cities for admission in to Degree Programmes in Engineering and Technology. Admission to Post Graduate Programmes and LL.B also processed through CAT but the entrance examination conducted only in the Kelara and LET conducted only at Kochi Centre.

Presently CUSAT providing different courses in Engineering like Computer Science, Electrical & Electronics, Civil Engg., Electronics & Communication, Mechanical Engg., Information Technology, Safety & Fire Engg., Marine Engg. Also CUSAT has other departments like School of Environmental Studies, Humanities, Law, Marine Science, General Science etc.
