There is going to be a Surya grahan aka Solar eclipse on 22nd July 2009 in India. This will be first such instance where a major part of India will be able to see surya grahan after 24th october 1995.

The Surya grahan will start at 5:20 am in the morning and will last till 7:40 am, so you won’t be seeing sun in the morning of 22nd july.

Precautions to take care of in surya grahan

1. Do not look directly at the sun, it radiates harmful rays which can harm your eyes
2. do not even try to see it directly with filters, glasses or X-rays. It is stupid to do such things, these rays can easily penetrate these objects. the best thing you can do is to sit at your house and watch the surya grahan 2009 on television, you will be able to see it much better.
