6 Reasons why Rentacoder.com Sucks -

1. Too many people bidding - Unfortunately rentaocder has grown too big and 20 people bidding on your project means nothing if all of them are incompetent. Most of the people are unskilled who brags about themselves which you only comes to know when you don't get anything from the coder after the deadline.

2. Overcrowded with unskilled workers - RAC is filled with coders from India, Romania etc and many of them lies about their skills and over promise but eventually fails to deliver the product. This oftens alot and the only thing that the coder has to forfeit is a ranking but the buyer loses its previous time which many times turns out to worth more then the value of the project.

3. The rating system is not perfect - rentacoder's Rating system is flawed and it can not be taken as the best measure to rank coders. Way too many coders have positive ratings, buyers just give them so coder don't give them less then 10 rating. I think RAC seriously need to change their rating system so the ratings can be more realstic, One way is that the ratings can only be seen by buyers who have posted a project.

4. Arbitration Process Sucks - Rentacoder has a huge and lengthy time consuming arbitration process which can take even a month to finish. The problem is, RAC follows same rules for all the projects, but I think the arbitration process should be alot different with small projects and bigger projects. The arbitration process involves way too much documentation and I can understand the necessity of keeping things legal, I think they are overdoing it. I think a lot more effort should be put in to solve high value cases.

5. Heavily biased towards Buyers - Due to too much competition, people get into price way and buyers mostly chose that coder which offers cheapest price. Now this is a loss-loss situation for both Coder and RAC, though more for Coder. As its impossible to convince the buyer why the buyer should hire him in just a single message. Many time it happens, than after writing a huge reply, the coder don't get selected, which turns out to be waste of time for him.

6. Very High Noise to Signal Ratio - Rentacoder has very high noise ratio with too many projects of all kinds and it becomes impossible for coder to identify good suitable projects for him without spending considerable time in searching for projects and reading and download attached files.
