The Philips 37PF9631D is a 37 inch LCD TV is an attractive black and silver appearance, with the Philips latest addition “The Ambilight” available in it which reduces the strain from the user’s eyes. The remote control is great looking and is very user friendly having well spaced keys. The Philips 37PF9631D’s offers excellent Black levels and the shadow details are extremely good. It has a wide range of aspect ratios available to choose from. It has USB connectivity options available. It has good screen uniformity throughout the screen with great picture quality and sharpness.
Weaknesses of Philips 37PF9631D
The Ambilight in most of the cases causes a distraction and its mimicry is very irritating. The remote control does not have a back light. The colour temperature is not accurate and the colour accuracy is below the desired standard. The Philips 37PF9631D does not offer picture in picture feature. The Philips 37PF9631D has few connectivity options than required. Aspect ratio in HD mode cannot be changed.
My Opinion
The Philips 37PF9631D is a great looking TV with the first ever built-in Ambilight to reduce your strain. That also puts strain on your pocket. Philips 37PF9631D is worth your consideration, with great performance and results but a bit behind in colour accuracy.
