In this information age it would be unwise to say that there are people who surf the web without knowing the security implications to their personal computer from scripts, cookies, links, downloads, viruses, Trojans, etc. Complexity of this problem can be put in simple words even National security agency (USA) gets illegal requests from all over the world. Web surfing is getting redefined every now and then on security aspects. An average user may not know the security implications and breaches which many major websites are facing but yes according to NSA there have been almost 1.5 million breaches from programming and configuration errors. Web surfing involves many aspects such as conferencing, e-commerce, IM, chat, video uploads, etc. Organizations and universities’ are restricting certain websites because it decreases the network performance and productivity but proxy web surfing can overcome restrictions.
